March 8-12 is National School Breakfast week. The School District of Janesville honored over 250 volunteers on March 5th for sponsoring the Breakfast Programs at Adams, Jackson, Jefferson Madison, Roosevelt, Washington and Wilson. Breakfast is an important meal with many benefits including: improved academic performance and better attendance and behavior. Thank you Breakfast Club volunteer!
Adams 5th grade students are at to El-Ra Bowl this morning from 9:30 – 11:30.
Roosevelt is celebrating Spirit Week March 8-12.
Franklin 8th grade students today will participate in a Career Day. Thank you to all of the community members who are presenting.
Marshall MVP Club Meeting will be held at 7:15 a.m. or 3:20 p.m.

Lincoln 3rd – 5th grade students’ Jump Rope for Heart Fundraiser is after school from 3:00 – 4:00.
Marshall PTA meeting is this evening at 6:00 p.m.
Craig DECA Club competes in the State Competition March 9-11 at Lake Geneva.
Child Development Day is being held March 15-19 at the Educational Services Center, 527 S Franklin Street, from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. and from 12:30 – 6:30 p.m.
This event offers families with children ages 2 – 4 ½ the opportunity to:
• Take part in developmental screening.
• Consult with Early Learning Representatives.
• Gather parenting information and community resources.
• Enroll in the P4J program.
To make an appointment call 743-5063 to make an appointment. Children participating in the screening will receive a take home bag.

Registration for AP Exams is March 10 – 26. All forms should be mailed to or turned in at the Curriculum Office at the Educational Services Center. The Educational Services Center hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The exam cost is $86 each; make checks payable to the School District of Janesville.

Congratulations to Eric Einerson a 5th grade student at Van Buren Elementary. He has been chosen as the “Student of the Week,”for March 12-18. Eric earned this honor by modeling the Character in Action traits of respect, responsibility, cooperation, honesty and caring.
He is the son of Bichdu and David Einerson of Janesville.
Ms. Kathy Richards, Eric’s teacher, noted the following:
“Eric is a delightful young man. He is eager to question and learn throughout the school day. His study habits are impeccable! Eric consistently gives his best effort and takes great pride in his accomplishments. His exemplary manners toward school friends and adults alike set a positive tone in our classroom. It is a pleasure working Eric in 5th grade.”
